Below is a screen shot of the Brewometer program in "Wort" mode. Wort mode is where you
measure the original gravity before any fermentation has occurred. You can enter an estimated final
gravity to see what the final alcohol content of your beer might be. Temperature compensation is
performed in wort mode. As you can see there are no calculations required and the results are
clearly displayed.
To check your beer after fermentation, the Brewometer program is put into "Beer" mode. By entering
your original gravity from your wort, you can now see how much alcohol and sugar are currently in your
beer. Calories contained in your beer are also displayed. You can also use the beer mode to back
out the starting specific gravity of a beer of known alcohol content if you want to recreate the recipe.
